Privacy Policy
HandyBar is a downloadable macOS utility published by Conses LLC. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the website, buy a license, activate the app, or contact support.
Information we collect
For license operations we process the email address used for purchase or activation, license key status, app version, build version, trial token when present, and a device fingerprint used to keep the license limited to one active Mac. Server logs can include IP address, request time, user agent, and security events needed to prevent abuse.
Information that stays on your Mac
HandyBar uses macOS Accessibility, window, Calendar, Reminders, and performance APIs to render the local interface. The app does not upload your window titles, file contents, calendar event contents, reminder contents, screenshots, keystrokes, or Accessibility tree data to HandyBar servers.
Diagnostics
To keep the app reliable and fix crashes quickly, HandyBar can send privacy-preserving diagnostic reports: the app version, build number, macOS version, an error or crash type, and a scrubbed crash location (function and file names from HandyBar's own code, with any home-directory path removed). These reports are tied to a rotating, anonymous installation identifier, not to your email or license, and are never joined back to your identity. Diagnostic reports never include window titles, file names or contents, calendar or reminder data, screenshots, keystrokes, or Accessibility data.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout. HandyBar does not receive or store card numbers, CVC codes, or bank account credentials. Stripe can process your payment details, receipt email, tax information, fraud signals, and payment support data according to Stripe's own policies.
Support requests
If you email support, we process the information you include in that message so we can respond, diagnose license issues, recover a license, or handle refund requests. Do not send card numbers or sensitive identity documents by email.
Retention
License and purchase records are kept while the license is active and as needed for support, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, and legal obligations. Support email retention depends on the request and operational need.
Your choices
You can request access, correction, or deletion of support and license data by contacting support. Some records must be retained when needed for payment disputes, accounting, security, or legal obligations.
